much after....like 4 weeks after your birthday
Vegas is lonely. Ive been to mexico and threw up in the bathroom after being there for an hour....there food isn't good. I went to California and saw friends....good friends like lauren, matt and Ej. I got drunk in vegas then tripped balls watching the Beatles love with jess. That was awesome. Proceeded to win a bunch of money in vegas. 4 days later receiving a call that my car was towed by the Philadelphia parking police i went to the casino and gambled away my profits hoping to make double that and pay to have my car back in my possession. Sadly I am heading back to philly broke and without a car. Life.....how you laugh in my face then kick me in the ass. Im really glad i came out to the west coast for a bit tho. I havent seen my dad in ages and at first i felt very unwelcomed but by the end of this i feel more stable. My dad actually had a cigar with me. I guess thats what kind of dad he is. The kind that doesnt smoke but to fit in with me he would go out for a smoke. He acts alot like a kid but i cant blame him. I don't really want to work a 9 to 5 or have to pay a mortgage. He spends more on comics a week than i do on food a week. I want to just tour and thats it. I really hope everything comes together so i can tour this summer. | | Tuesday, December 25th, 2007 | | 4:27 am |

ehhhhhh life
so live journal we meet again. I havent posted anything in over 6 months. I believe the last post was when i was in California. Life is busy as always. Im working for Camel cigs and giving them out for free at bars and friends houses. Playing shows 3-4 days a week if im not playing a show im prolly at a show i booked. Im playing a big pre-record release on may 25th @ World Cafe Live. If any of you are around it would be great to see you and it would be nice to catch up over a beer and some music. We hand making 200 limited edition albums that will be given to you for free with entree of the show. Here is more info on the show!!! come out and hang out! So is everyone graduating yet? Im here next year too. I took two terms off. One to start the cloud entertainment agency and another to finish up the bees and the birds album. Im glad i took them off tho. When you really want to do something with yourself you have to just do it and as much people tell you that school is the most important thing in life to get you ahead, it really isnt. The only thing in life that gets you ahead is yourself and how you apply yourself to do what you want to do. Its determination and understanding. Thats it. Lame maybe. But thats kinda how i am lately. Im excited about the summer. Plenty of touring and plenty of hanging out with some great people. Before everyone from drexel leaves i want to hang out. Lets go to mad mex or something soon. thats it peace | | Friday, September 29th, 2006 | | 9:11 pm |
hello livejournal
Hello everyone, i have not been on here in a long time. Life is good tho. Busy but good. I am working on an album with my acoustic folk band the bees and the birds. They are good people and we have good times. I am working really hard on my entertainment agency. I would really really really love to see some friends at some of my shows supporting what i am doing. I have attached a copy of my newsletter. I would love to hear what everyone thinks of it and what i can inprove with it. I am using a thing called message bot to send it out to people. Its just a program that lets me send it out to everyone who signs up for my newsletter. I would love it if you were apart of the news letter. go to www.myspace.com/cloudentertainment and sign up for it!! I would love fedback and maybe some kids out at the shows. I hope everyone is doing well on here. Take care josh Hello Everyone, This is Cloud Entertainment’s weekly newsletter to give you a heads up on upcoming shows to check out around your neighborhood. Cloud Entertainment is a local DIY independent promotion and booking agency based out of Philadelphia. We carefully scope out breaking artists to showcase at our shows. Here is what is going the next couple weeks. Friday, September 29th @ World Café Live 3025 Walnut st. Philadelphia, PA www.worldcafelive.com shows starts at 9pm/ $6 cover at door AMY PICKARD AND THE CRADLERSAmy Pickard sings bittersweet country songs that blur the lines between folk music, traditional Americana, and hate mail. Her spare arrangements and rough country flatpicking complement a writing and performing style that is intimate and to the point. During live shows, her curiosity about history, ladies’ boxing, and the vexing existence of David Allan Coe, Stephen Foster and other genius country/folk songwriters replaces between-song patter with genuine conversation. DAVID JANES David’s songs range from tender love songs to that of psycho-dramatic dream songs about ghosts and vampires. His voice can be delicate and soaring in falsetto tones and at other times low down dirty and mean! All the while punching out the chords on his trusty Gibson J-50, it’s my best investment, ever! He once said. David is faithfully backed by Nathan Gonzalez on the guitar, accordion and the piano. Together, you see a chemistry that is undeniable. DAN FISHERSaturday, September 30th @ Millcreek Tavern 4200 Chester St. Philadelphia, PA www.millcreektavernphilly.com show starts at 9/ $6 at the door The Great Unknown Band- Great Local Indie Folk Rock, you dont want to miss these guys Bees and the Birds (Our Neighborhood Records)- My band!! Philadelphia, PA www.cereality.com open mic 5-6/ headliners 6-9/ FREE SHOW ANDREW LIPKE (MAD DRAGON RECORDS)-Great Performer. “Andrew Lipke is an extremely convincing presence on the microphone whether by serenade or spine-bending angst. Each song that I’ve sampled exudes these vocal attributes.” -Repo Phreshwater.com “Andrew Lipke’s voice at times recalls a non-whining Thom Yorke, but at other times is a dead ringer for Thrak-era Adrian Belew…and, when called upon to do so, can usher forth absolutely spine-tingling, angst-riddled shrieks.” -Aaron Jazy Prog4you LORETTA ALLEN-Unique acoustic folk rock There are a lot more shows coming up. its nice reading something interesting once an a while. I discovered this amazing kids show that you need to check out. www.pancakemountain.com this is the coolest show ever. They combine really good indie bands with kid stuff. Once again Im staring at maps. Looking at all the places I want to go to. This summer should be alot of fun and very interesting. I dont enjoy bi-polar people. I went to mexico this weekend, NYC and the shore. I want to go back. | | Tuesday, June 13th, 2006 | | 1:52 am |
Ok its about that time. You know what im talking about. updater time. So ive been pretty much bussier than a squirrel harvesting nuts or something. Shows, work, school and all that good stuff. I just finished my last final paper and i have a presentation at 1030am. Exciting stuff. I guess. Ive been spending alot of time with lindsay. She is basically living with me until she goes back to texas. It is really nice to have someone their for you again. She is a nice girl and its sad to see her go. We went down to atlantic city wed and thursday. That was pretty awesome. We went to ocean city, NJ and did the whole beach thing. Warning! The Beach water is pretty much freezing. She took me to see x-men 3 and yes go see that movie. Its pretty spectacular. Ive been inspired to write alot lately. It feels so great. For once I feel ive gained an incredible amount of closure from some of my newer songs. If you guys can make it out on thursday. We are playing at cereality on thursday. We have this local label coming out that wants to put out our album this summer. So any support on thursday would be the best thing ever. www.myspace.com/cloudentertainment there should be a flier on the site. Much love josh | | Tuesday, June 6th, 2006 | | 2:24 am |
im just praying for one normal day. Its been a pretty hectic weekend but im happy that lindsay flew on a plane to come see me. I like sweet girls. I have only dated one girl younger than me. This girl is 2 yrs ahead but pretty awesome. When she arrived she was suposed to meet me outside of my classroom. She left a map shapped like a heart on the door telling me where she was. It was pretty awesome. Then i had to run a cereality show. This is my last week of classes. I am so extremely excited.Umm I might go waterskiing this weekend. I have a co-op. Im working with phil Roy. Im working out his tours and helping him with his house shows and stuff. ohh yah the bees and the birds got signed to a local label that is going to be putting out vinyls and CDs for us. AUg 2nd CD release. I better see some familiar faces. Im pretty excited. My mom says Ive gone country. And I never would want to admit it. I think its more folk. But is folk just a prentious way of saying you kinda like country music? I dont know. my mom said I went from screaming to singing with a twang in my voice. Damnit shes right. | | Thursday, June 1st, 2006 | | 1:44 am |
Well a pretty awesome girl is coming in on a plane tomarrow to see me and that makes me feel pretty freakin awesome. Lauren is turning 21 tomarrow. That is also pretty awesome. I think im going to the shore on saturday so maybe a bunch of people should come too. Yeehhhaaa. ohh and x-men 3 on friday. im excited to see that. | | Monday, May 29th, 2006 | | 11:06 pm |
Steady does it
i havent updated this in a while. Its hard to even remember where i last left off. But basically everything has been moving continuously even against my own will. Ive realized how shitty some people can be. I realized how beautiful some people can be. I have never been this excited to see someone. I just need to focus on everything. I want to be an honest person more than anything so i cant move into the city right away. I want to play music and have good times this summer. Im going to vegas this august. ohh man im excited. Im also going out to california. Ohh man that is going to be super awesome. Alright enough of this. Time for crappy econ homework. | | Sunday, May 14th, 2006 | | 12:24 am |
everyone from my high school is either: pregnant, got someone pregnant; married, in a serious relationship, on drugs, went to jail or is in probation. ohhh and all of them still have a serious drinking problem. This weekend i came home to see some friends and help my parents move. My stepdad stated "Ahhh your going to miss this room that you lost your virginity in" as we walked out of my room. My stepdad is a character. I spent most of the week with lindsay before i took her to the airport on thursday. I had to wake up at 3am. Sometimes I dont even sleep until then. She is going down to texas for the month. Alot of crappy stuff happened this week to my friends. Sometimes its hard to say something encouraging. Hopefully it will get better before it gets worse. | | Monday, May 8th, 2006 | | 12:40 pm |
so i basically want nothing more than to fall asleep for an entire week. I went to dorney park on saturday randomly. That was kinda fun. Those rides are intense. I forgot how much i enjoy rollercoasters. Ive realized how much of an introverted person i am. I just can't handle talking to people about stuff unless its about music. I fucked up a bands tour. Damnit I feel shitty but i just had alot of shit going on that i needed to take care off. I dont want to be viewed as someone that your nice to when you want something from. Its a really shitty feeling. Lindsay is leaving for Texas on thursday. Its nice to date someone and then have them leave after 2 weeks lol by nice i mean sad. I think i need to start getting into video games or something. Anyone have any suggestions? Im pretty excited about this producer that wants to record my music. I hope this goes well and i can write songs for a living or something. That would be pretty awesome. This summer should be interesting. ALso im going to las vegas this summer to see my dad and apply for some jobs over there. Im really excited. ohh and here is a flier for the show may 17th. a href=" http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"> </a> Harry and the Potters "Two young brothers, dressed up like pop culture's most famous adolescent wizard, simultaneously spread the gospels of DIY synth-garage-punk and the Order of the Phoenix, causing squealing fits in hyperactive third graders, teenagers in homemade Grffyindor t-shirts, and their chaperones alike. The Decemberists wish they could lit-rock like this. " Pitchfork artists website Harry and the potters Jason Anderson Anderson's memorable sound is comparable to Bright Eyes, Fevers and Mirrors, and Pedro the Lion. Whether he is demonstrating his musical talent on piano or guitar, its apparent his mastery of the instruments is fine-tuned. His songs are easy on the ears, but shouldn't be regarded as just that. artists website Jason Anderson | | Friday, April 28th, 2006 | | 7:42 pm |

long awaited update
well its alittle after 12. I really haven't updated in a while but i actually have time to update this thing and feel like writting i guess. Its been a really long strange couple of weeks. Realized alot of things that make me who i am and all. I have a really hard music history exam so no thursday night crew. It was soo beautiful outside. I just sat outside for a bit and layed in the grass and it was amazing. I came back home this past weekend. People have really changed. wait i take that back. I think i have changed. Everyone back home is fine with staying there. Alot of the same people who told me 3 years ago that they needed to get out of this town are back in the town getting married, working real estate and other jobs i couldnt see them doing. I don't really believe I have ever had a real place to call home so im fine with this constant movement. Im pretty happy living in philadelphia. Its a nice city but i definately need to move next summer. I have two ideas. My best friend from high school wants to move into New York City with me and wants me to audition with him for some broadway plays and stuff. Not really my thing but Im up for trying something different. Off course I will prolly be working some internship at a major label or something in NYC but who knows. Also my dad is really trying to get me back on the west coast. So im going there this summer to apply for some good jobs out there and see how the west coast treats me. So two big decissions on where my life is going to take me. I know im going to do this tho. There are a handful of people that actually take action and do what they want and do not let anyone get in there way. I see myself this way and i really want this change. Even how scary it might be Im ready for the challege. I have met some of the most amazing people and had some great times with them but I know there has to be more out there. For once I have realized that i needed to be single. As much as it hurt and how the seperation was one of the worst things in my life, I have finally found a center. Something to focus on and become. One of my professors really inspired me this last couple weeks to make something out of the songs i have been writting. I do like performer but i think i want to just be a writter. Make some money behind the scenes and just have a great time sitting around writting songs. He wants to take me into the studio and record a demo to send out to some major labels and build up some connections with some bigger bands that he works with. He is coming out to see me play at cereality next thursday if any of you aren't busy you should come out. My mom is even driving 3 hrs to come down and see me play and talk to this producer about everything. wooohoo. Exciting. As far as the lady situation is concerned. I have had some girls interested but once i get invovled i get scared that this girl is going to do the same thing the last one did or that im just trying to fill an empty space. I just need to fill that space up myself. I have too much i need to get done with my life before i settle down and everything. I really want to see some good friends this weekend. So if your not busy give me a call and lets hang out philly style. I need a beach trip very soon. I want to feel the sand between my feet. Ive prolly said that a million times here but its a great feeling. wow this is weird. I usually go out every thursday night. This is prolly one of the first thursday nights not going out. Its fine with me tho. I need to study for this music history test. but what am i doing? Egnoring that review sheet and writting in my lj. Its fine with me. I think im going to change that picture over to something more tasteful. Oh Fact. Im throwing a pretty big house show on april 29th @10pm. 3 kegs. 7 bands. schnozola, birds and bees, endless mike and the beagle club, US Funk TEam, drew hawthorne, sea el, Z note and more. Its going to be sooooo much fun. www.myspace.com/cloudentertainment for more info. I will post a flier on here this weekend hopefully. Current Music: the books |
